Online Brainspotting Therapy in Boulder, Colorado
It’s time to move past intellectualizing your anxiety and trauma symptoms.
Experience profound, somatic healing without leaving your home. Chicory Counseling specializes in online Brainspotting tailored for Boulder adults who want to move beyond traditional talk therapy.
Brainspotting uses neurobiological information (aka information your brain sends to the rest of your body) to identify, process, and release sources of emotional pain.
How Online Brainspotting Works
-
This is where you share a bit of information about the experience you’re having with an aspect of your anxiety.
-
I use a visual aid, like a pointer to track how and where you eyes move when talking about your anxiety
This helps us to find where you need to look before moving on to the next step. -
This step is sometimes called Focused Mindfulness.
During processing, your brain’s limbic system (aka your the part of your brain responsible for processing and regulating emotions) gets to work.
Some people will notice physical sensations during this process (like temperature changes or moments of tension and relaxation).
Unlike traditional talk therapy, Brainspotting doesn’t require that you talk while you process. Many people process in silence.
-
This is when I’ll guide your attention back into the present moment. If a visual aid was used, I’ll set it aside, and encourage you to take a sip of water, stretch, and return to eyes to their usual position.
Some people feel a bit tired after a Brainspotting session, while others feel energized. In either case, many people notice they also feel more peaceful following a Brainspottng session.
You Can Experience Brainspotting in Two Formats
Weekly Therapy Sessions
Brainspotting can be a regular part of your weekly therapy sessions. If you prefer a consistent pace to therapy, this option gives you plenty of space to process at your own speed.
Half-Day Therapy Intensive
If you’re limited on time, or simply prefer to attend therapy on a shorter term basis, you can accomplish months of therapy in a mere 5 hours of work together.
