Ready to take the next step?
Hi! I'm Halle (pronouns: she/they) and I'm looking forward to working with you.
I want you to free yourself from having to over-explain your identity. I grew up as a queer, mixed-race African-American kid in the Bay Area in an interracial household and blended family. My experience prompted me to notice all the ways people struggle to discuss different aspects of their identity, which can lead to feeling like they have to choose some parts of themselves while leaving others behind. I also noticed the feelings of grief and disconnection that people experience in their relationships when they feel their partner does not understand their lived experience. You deserve the freedom to define your experiences and your identity for yourself. You also deserve a space where you'll be met with curiosity rather than assumptions or judgement about what your life has been like. Outside of the work I do, I make it a point to engage in my own interests: watching horror movies, reading bell hooks, trying to keep up with my very active Golden Retriever, and working on perfecting a recipe for a good gluten-free + vegan donut. |
